I have his globe from the early 60's and remember hours pouring over it, atlases and the National Geographic supplemental maps. A school pull down map would be an amazing find. I have found a steel folding camp table with a map of Canada during my thrifting which I will blog about.Jenifirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06307720101656463930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864789586861647605.post-15721291470393175592011-03-14T16:19:02.514-07:002011-03-14T16:19:02.514-07:00@Suzie Q:

Take the maps to Kinko's (Or a similar copy shop) and pay for a large size high quality color copy of each (Which can get pricey).
2. Measure and cut the maps to 8.5x11 size for easy reproducing at home as "master copies".
3. Scan and print copies of the map portions and use at your whim for whatever decoupage projects you want.

Hope that gives you a little help and that your projects turn out wonderfully.

-BettyBettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08543718373960037936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864789586861647605.post-53847027789998743402011-03-09T03:13:41.645-08:002011-03-09T03:13:41.645-08:00I too have a thing for globes and have two, one fr...I too have a thing for globes and have two, one from my childhood...I will have to take it down off the shelf and see if it says, Persia, too.
I have gotten some maps lately, with the intention of using them for decopage and now, I find, that I am hesitating, due to their age. They're not particularly valuable, but I am beginning to see a repeating problem...how to use and enjoy some of my collection, without feeling that everything needs to be kept in pristine condition, for posterity. Any suggestions?suzieQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04883115039145453043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864789586861647605.post-46871094090071851832011-03-08T20:43:15.763-08:002011-03-08T20:43:15.763-08:00Oh! I have a similar mink stole high school story, but mine is simply named "Rich's." :) For years, I thought it was faux fur. My mother added it on to an dining table and chair set from an antique store for a song because I fell in love with it while she was browsing. Needless to say, it's not faux. And I, too, need more chances to wear it! Following! (And I too have a LOVE of maps!)

-Andrea
http://tablescapex3.blogspot.comAndrea Tablescapehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03122225553404332170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8864789586861647605.post-4278276470930846182011-03-08T12:33:12.278-08:002011-03-08T12:33:12.278-08:00Thanks so much for sharing at NTT.
